Tsubaki's ProService team, led by Solutions Engineer Jei, recently carried out a critical maintenance activity at a power plant in Quezon. The engagement centered on the inspection and verification of the coal feeder worm reducer, a key component in the plant's fuel handling system. This equipment regulates the flow of coal into the combustion process, and its reliability directly impacts the efficiency, safety, and stability of power generation. The activity began with a detailed on‑site inspection of the worm reducer. Solutions Engineer Jei assessed the mechanical condition of the unit, checking for signs of wear, misalignment, and lubrication issues that could compromise performance. Particular attention was given to gear surfaces, bearings, and seals, as these areas are most susceptible to stress under continuous operation. The inspection also included vibration and noise monitoring to detect subtle indicators of mechanical imbalance.
